Pelin Yenigun Dilek obtained her bachelors degree in Economics from Bogazici University, Istanbul in 1995, followed by a M.A. in Development Economics from University of Kent in Canterbury, U.K.  After her internship in UNIDO (United Nations Industrial Development Organization), Vienna, she worked as an economist in Industrial Development Bank of Turkey and Global Securities between 1997-2003.  In 2004, she obtained another masters degree from Leuven University, Belgium on International Business Economics.  She worked in Garanti Bank, Istanbul as the chief economist until 2013 where she supervised macroeconomic research of the Department and communicated the economic views of the Bank to public authorities and international bodies as well as to Bank’s FI and IR investors.

She was a guest speaker and moderator at several international and domestic conferences including EBRD Annual Conference 2009, Euromoney -The Global Borrowers Investor Forum 2010, 2011, 2012, 5th Annual Turkey Energy & Infrastructure Finance Conference 2012, Real Estate Turkey 2011, Kagider’s Future Women Leaders Project 2010-2015, Customs Union Talksby IKV and Turkonfed 2016, European Trade partnerships Beyond Brexit by Tusiad 2016, EU-Turkey High Level Economic Dialogue and Foreign Direct Investments and Investment Environment Conference 2016.

Pelin currently gives consultancy on macroeconomics and sustainability issues to the private sector and writes ad-hoc research reports for business organizations and think tanks. She is the economic advisor for the Turkish Enterprise and Business Confederation. Pelin is also in the planning board for BCB (Bogazici Counseling for Biz), a business-counseling model set up by Bogazici University graduates.

Şakir Turan

Sakir Turan received his bachelors degree in economics from Istanbul University in
2005. He then attended the MA program in Economics Theory at the Istanbul University
Institute of Social Sciences and completed his master thesis in 2010. He began to
work at GarantiBank Economic Research Department as an assistant economist in 2006.
Following a three-year experience at that position, he was promoted to economist position.
Within the Bank’s research team, he wrote many regular and ad-hoc reports on domestic
and global economies. In addition to contributions to team’s usual responsibilities, he
mainly specialized in macroeconomic modeling with advanced econometrics methods
and international financial markets. In 2011, he joined the CVK Groups Companies as a
strategist aand worked there until 2013. During this role, he continued to make analysis on
macroeconomic environment and financial markets. He was also responsible of generating
strategies on financial markets and risk management. He is still working as an economist at
a bank.
